Jackie (my mom) and I went to Nashville for our first mother + daughter trip. We didn’t have a ton of plans (other than hitting up Uncommon James, @Kristin, hey girl.) Just a week of relaxing and wine-ing. Here is my round up of the gluten free finds and other fun things from the week.
Food
Diskin Cider Cidery
Amazing selections of cider and frozen ciders! We got the smoked BBQ chicken wings and they were incredible but you know me, I love all things topped with green onions. I highly recommend stopping in here for a fun afternoon. The space was beautiful and they had bags and other games set up inside.
Frothy Monkey
This is some of the best gluten free bread I have had in a long time. These pictures do not do it justice. We were starving on the first night and I forgot to take pictures before I dug in. They serve breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Of course, we had to get a bottle of wine, a cheese board with PIMIENTO, and a yummy sandwich. The entrees come with GF chips and salsa, too! There are a few different locations.
Sedona Tap House
This was hands-down the best meal we had in Nashville. (Also accompanied by a bottle of Rose). We started off with 4 cheese bacon wrapped jalapenos, then I had the scallops, and my mom got the salmon. All gluten free, all made us wish we had found this place on the first not the last night. The garlic mash was AMAZING as was the lemon butter that came with my scallops. 5/5 stars, will be back to Nashville just for this place.
The Old Spaghetti Factory
This was a nostalgia stop for my mother. We have an OSF in St. Louis but she hasn’t been in years so of course we had to go in Nashville. They are great about gluten free and even gave me a cute little gf flag, which you all know is my favorite!
Mellow Mushroom
Shout out to my girl Angela over at Chronically Gluten Free for telling me about Mellow Mushroom. I was really craving some pizza so it was perfect. They have tons of options plus dairy free cheese!
Red Bicycle
An adorable brunch spot with gluten free crepes! I got a sweet one with ice cream, bananas, whipped cream, and more. It was SO much food that we should have shared. I believe there are multiple locations, we went to the one in Germantown.
Shopping
I had to stop by my girl Kristin Cavallari’s shop Uncommon James to see what all the hype was about. Unfortunately, she wasn’t there but I did get to walk on the same ground as her so that’s pretty neat.
Concert
My mom and I headed to the Hailee Steinfeld and Charlie Puth concert at the Ascend Amphitheater. They had tons of GF drank options and I even got to (finally) meet Jenna from @CeliacSnacks!!!
Leaving My Mark
Of course I had to drop a GFAF sticker in a bar to leave my mark on Nashville.
I had the best time and I can’t wait to go back. What else do I need to see and eat in Nashville? Drop it in the comments.
