Hey everyone! I recently won an Instagram contest sponsored by Canyon Bakehouse and Erica aka @CeliacAndTheBeast!! I can’t wait to try out all of these awesome products! They don’t sell 90% of what’s in this box in my area so I’m beyond excited! You should have seen the happy dance I did post Fedex delivery!!
Keep on the lookout for reviews of all of these Canyon Bakehouse products!
Brownie Bites: ★★★★★. If you know me at all you shouldn’t be at all surprised that the brownies were the first product I tried. They instantly took me back to my childhood of eating Little Debbie’s brownie bites. If you have a sweet tooth or a child looking for something yummy for their lunch boxes, these are it!!!
Rosemary & Thyme Focaccia Bread: ★★★★. The texture of this bread was amazing. It felt and tasted like gluten-bread. The only reason I am giving it 4 stars instead of 5 is because I hate Rosemary and am not a huge fan of thyme, either. I have never liked the taste and this was no exception. The Rosemary and thyme flavors were abundant. I ended up mixing some olive oil, crushed black pepper, Parmesan cheese, and salt and dipping the focaccia into it.
7- Grain Bread: ★★★★. This bread is good. My loaf hardly had any of the typical holes we see in other brands of gf bread and it stayed together pretty well. I enjoyed it without being toasted, toasted, and in grilled sandwiches. My only issue is that the crust burnt easily in my grilled sandwiches. I’m not sure if I am the only one this is happening for but I am a very picky eater and hate the taste of burnt things even in small amounts.
Everything Bagels: ★★★★★. OH. MY. GOSH. Why have I never tried an everything bagel prior to this day? Maybe because I am a celiac and before that bread made me hate life? Not sure but I think I just found my new favorite breakfast food. I enjoyed mine toasted with a toaster bag at work and topped it with some butter. I had no idea what you put on everything bagels but you really can’t go wrong with butter. Any suggestions for future everything bagel toppings? I’m thinking fresh avocados!
Mountain White: ★★★★. I think I like the overall flavor of the mountain white more than the 7-grain. But, as you all know, I am a pretty picky eater and white bread is a go-to for us. That being said, I gave this bread 4 stars because I really did enjoy it. I have been making sandwiches to pack and bring to school/work and it has been holding up pretty well. I have been keeping it refrigerated and eating it cold or heated up in a microwave for a few seconds. The reason I gave it 4/5 is because it does have a tendency to get a little crumbly.
