I was so excited when I first heard the news that Cheerios were going gluten free and even more so when I finally found them in stores. However, after my first bowl I started seeing cases all over the Internet of people feeling bad after eating the cereal. This did not happen to me but I was nervous to continue buying this product in fear of getting sick myself.
That being said, General Mills has issued a recall on their regular and Honey Nut Cheerios that were made at their Lodi, California facility. There had been a wheat contamination that affected certain dates from that location. They claim that all boxes before and after comply to FDA standards. To find out more information and to check to see if your box is contaminated please check here.
Other people have said that they have gotten sick from products not included in the recall. If you think that this has happened to you I would suggest you contact General Mills with your concerns. I’m so sorry if any of my readers had issues from this product and hope any other issues can be resolved soon.
