So I thought I would do something new. This may not be a weekly thing but I will hopefully start to do a few a month. I will be showcasing my favorite things from food to products and much more.
This week’s theme are my favorite snacks. If you’re anything like me then you probably have snacks on your person at all times. I never know when I will get stuck somewhere where I do not feel comfortable eating or there are simply no options for my gluten free lifestyle.
The following are three of my go-to items that never let me down.
1. Nut-Thins Country Ranch. Crackers are hard to find in the gluten free world. These are by far my favorite. They go great with humus, cheese and meat, or by themselves. But be ready with a breath mint afterwards, the ranch flavor can leave your breath smelling like you just drank a whole bottle of Hidden Valley Ranch. Worth it.
2. Emerald Natural Walnut & Almond 100 Calorie Packs. Walnuts are my favorite but for some reason I have a hard time finding individually wrapped packs of them. This is my next best thing. I do love almonds as well so it’s not too bad. These little packs are so small and easy to carry with you. I sometimes bring a little peanut butter to dip them in, as well. Great source of protein.
3. Luna Protein Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Bars. There was a point in time at the beginning of my diagnosis where I lived off of these. I’ve moved on from that point in life but I do have one of these floating around in my purse or backpack at all times. They are basically candy bars and great for when you need a little pick me up. They are also low glycemic which means they digest slowly for prolonged levels of energy and help curb cravings between meals.
